Be prepared for a few random nature pictures

Now, these are from a few weeks back. I have several lots of similar pictures taken when me and Jonny have gone out with our cameras. This is the oldest lot so it made sense to put these up first. I've had quite relaxing few days, literally just doing nothing significant. Tomorrow I'm at work, doing a long shift, and same thing on Saturday. Today I went to town meeting up with a friend and doing some window shopping. I don't have a lot of money but my birthday is in a month so I thought I'd check what is available. :-D I did buy a pair of summery relaxed trousers from H&M because I'd been looking at them on the website for days and the only size in store fit me and they were only £13 so I had to buy them, haha. And I didn't actually have any other trousers than jeans, so they are really nice to wear at home as well. I'm sure there will be a picture up real soon but obviously any urgent news are going to be on my Instagram @korhosjola. It's quite nice that I now have time to see friends and just chill, and more work hours are possibly coming up in the near future, so things are looking positive. I would really have to just sort out my tuition fee loan paper work out the way, but it seems to be as much of a pain as last year and I just wanna forget it all (last year I sent all the possible papers and didn't get it but this year I realistically should be able to get it...if I'm lucky). I think having a couple of days of just not doing anything has made me forget all the uni stuff and I'm pretty much on holiday mode now. No more stress about essays, woohoo! Soon we're gonna get the results as well, because the first results are in on the 1st of June. Now that I have more time I was thinking about doing more in depth posts of certain topics, like about living in Cambridge, and maybe about my uni and course to explain it more. And maybe put some random facts out there. I know people are reading this, even though I don't get many comments, so I hope that'd be interesting. :-)

+ Nää kuvat on parin viikon takaa, mutta koska ollaan Jonnyn kanssa tehty aika monta tällasta samanlaista kuvausreissua, niin ajattelin laittaa nää vanhimmat eka näytille. Mulla on ollu nyt muutama tosi rento päivä koulun loppumiseen jälkeen ja oon onnistunu unohtamaan kaiken koulustressin. Huomenna ja lauantaina mulla on pitkät työvuorot ja tänään kävin kaupungilla näkee yhtä kaveria. Käytin vähän ikkunashoppailemassa ja saatoin ehkä ostaa kesäpöksyt h&m:ltä koska olin kattonu niitä netistä aika monta kertaa, ja kun ainoo pari oli mun kokoo niin eihän sitä voinu vastustaa, varsinkaan kolmentoista punnan hinnalla. :-D Vaikka mulla ei oo paljoo rahaa kun ylitöitä ei oo ropissu, niin silti oli kiva katella mitä kaupoissa on tarjolla, varsinki kun synttärit on kuukauden päästä, hehe. Kuvaa kesäpöksyistä tulee varmasti pikimmiten, mutta kaikki tärkeimmät uutiset löytyy tietty mun instagrammista @korhosjola. On ollu tosi ihanaa vaan olla ja rentoutua, ja näyttää todennaköseltä, että ylitöitäkin alkaa pikkuhiljaa tulemaan, joten asiat näyttää melko positiivisilta. Pitäis jaksaa hoitaa opintolainapaperit kuntoon, mutta vaikuttaa että siitä tulee samanlainen kamala rumba kun viime vuonna, niin ei kauheesti innostais (viime vuonna lähetin kaikki maholliset paperit, mutta en saanu lainaa, mutta tänä vuonna realistisesti mun pitäis kyllä saada se). Oon ihan lomafiiliksissa nyt kun ei oo tarttenu tehä mitään tai hoitaa mitään velvollisuuksia. Eikä oo esseestressiäkään, jee! Kohta saadaan tuloksetkin, koska ekat arvosanat tulee jo kesäkuun ekana päivänä. Nyt kun mulla on enemmän aikaa, niin ajattelin tehä vähän laajempia postauksia ihan kunnon aiheista, niinku esimerkiksi Cambridgessa asumisesta, mun yliopistosta ja alasta, ja ehkä tehä jonkun faktapostauksenki. Tiiän, että siellä ruutujen takana tätä kyllä luetaan, vaikka ei kommentteja kauheesti tuukkaan, niin toivottavasti kiinnostais. :-)

Too many photos from the nicest summery day

These pictures taken a week ago turned out so lovely I just couldn't pic a couple to post but had to put pretty much all of the up here, haha. I've not touched my camera this week because I've been so busy with presentations and projects, but hopefully we'll take a nice trip somewhere by the end of this week and I'll get some more pictures to post. It was such a lovely weather a week ago, and to be honest it's been quite nice for the whole week. Today and yesterday I've been pretty much studying and doing projects, and later on today I'm going to work. It's a tough couple of weeks, and it's hard to believe we only have two weeks left. The week after next is just gonna be essay workshops, and then we have a week to finish everything, as the deadline to submit work. It feels unreal that my first year is nearly over, but I got to admit, I've learned a lot more than I expected, of things I didn't even know existed! I feel like the first year has been a little bit confusing because I haven't had a clue why we are studying all the strange topics, but now that it's nearly over it kinda all makes sense. We've been given the basic knowledge to carry on learning next year, and develop our skills even further. For next year I've chosen a radio module, and a news writing module, and am quite looking forward to them. I'll also have modules about media politics, which doesn't sound too appealing, but I'll try not to worry about it because it might actually turn out to be quite interesting, just like Media and Technology did this semester. I still have quite a lot of research to do, and I haven't even planned one of my essays yet, but I've nearly finished one project, and did a presentation yesterday, so I have two things less to worry about. Magazine project is one of the main things for this week, because I have to write quite a lot of stuff for it, and to finish doing research for the second presentation, which is due next week. My boyfriend kind of promised to buy me a bag so I think that's gonna be my treat when I've finished all the assignments. I've already picked the one I'd like. :-) Now, I got to get on with some research but I shall be coming to update you soon. I'll probably finish my video project tomorrow, so I can then pop it up here as well, for you to see.

+ Nää kuvat on otettu viikko sitten, ja näistä tuli niin kivoja etten voinu vaan valita paria, vaan piti postata melkeenpä kaikki. :-D En oo varmaan koskenukkaan kameraan tällä viikolla, koska oon ollu niin uppoutunu esitelmien ja projektien tekoon. Toivottavasti loppuviikosta ehitään poikakaverin kanssa johonkin, että saisin vähän lisää kuvamateriaalia. Viime viikolla oli niin ihana sää, ja ei kyllä oo valittamista koko viikon säässäkään. Tänään ja eilen oon pelkästään opiskellu ja tehny projekteja, mutta tänään meen iltavuoroon töihin. Nyt on aika rankat pari viikkoo edessä, mutta sitten kaikki aherrus onkin jo ohi! Ens viikon jälkeisellä viikolla on tunneilla enää vaan esseenkirjotusapua, mutta ei enää uusia aiheita. Sitten meillä on viikko aikaa saada kaikki tehtyä, koska palautuspäivä on 14.5. Tuntuu epätodelliselta, että eka vuosi on melkeen ohi, mutta on pakko myöntää, että oon oppinu tosi paljon, ja jopa sellasia asioita joiden olemassaolosta en edes tienny. :-D Tää eka vuosi on ollu vähän sellasta hapuilua, enkä oo ollu ihan varma miks meille opetetaan kaikkia outoja juttuja, mut nyt kun se kaikki on melken ohi, nin onhan siinä kaikessa ollu joku idea. Meille on annettu perustaidot ja tietoa, että osataan jatkaa opiskelua ens vuonna ja kehittää taitoja vielä parempaan suuntaan. Ens vuodelle oon jo valinnu radiokurssin ja uutiskirjotuskurssin, joita odotan jo innolla. Meillä tulee myös olemaan media politiikkaa, mikä ei kuulosta kauheen innostavalta, mutta yritän olla kasaamatta kauheesti ennakkoluuloja, koska voi olla, että se onkin tosi kiinnostava kurssi, ihan niin kuin Media ja Teknologia yllätti mut tänä lukukautena. Mulla on vielä kyllä aika paljon hommaa ja aineistoa pitäis löytää eri esseisiin ja projekteihin, enkä oo vielä edes suunnitellu mun yhtä esseetä. Onneks sentään saan tällä viikolla mun videoprojektin valmiiksi, ja ensimmäinen esitelmä oli eilen, joten kaks asiaa vähemmän on murhedittavana. Lehtiprojekti vaatii aika paljon työtä ja materiaalia, ja se onkin tän viikon päätehtävä, ja pitäis myös saada toinen esitelmä valmiiks, koska se pitää esittää ens viikolla. Mun poikakaveri tavallaan lupas, että se ostais mulle uuden laukun, joten se saa olla mun kouluhommien suorittamisen palkkio. Oon jo päättäny minkä haluun, hehee. Nyt pitää alkaa ettimään aineistoa, mutta tuun taas pian päivittelemään. Kunhan huomenna saan videoprojektin kasaan, nin laitan sen tännekin teille nähtäväksi. :-)

A carefree walk in the park

I've been off work this week, and luckily my boyfriend has been off too and we've had some quality couple time. :-D We've taken the dog walking a couple of times and have been just chilling at home, laughing at each others silly jokes. These pictures are from Wandlebury country park, which is such a lovely place, especially for dog walking (and it'd be perfect for running too if it wasn't a 30-minute drive away). My boyfriend bought a newer version of my camera and got some very rare snaps of me in random situations, like when the dog suddenly sprinted off the photo when we we're sitting on the bench. We laughed so much when we realised he got a picture of it. :-D I'm usually the one behind the camera so it makes a change having random snaps of me and not all pose-y all the time. Which means not all the pictures have been taken by me *inserts copyright for the bf here*, haha! And look at all the flowers, it's that spring coming to us! The ground was covered in white and yellow, and we spotted that blue bunch as well. It's been a lot warmer the past couple of days, it was hitting +15c yesterday! Tomorrow I'm at work but hopefully Sunday will be lovely for running. This week in uni we were talking loads about assessments and I'm trying not to get too stressed or worried because we've still got two months time to prepare. I did start thinking about one of the essay questions but it's been quite good having a few days off carefree.

+ Oon ollu vapaalla täl viikolla ja onneks mun poikakaveri on ollu kans vapaalla ja ollaan vietetty kunnolla aikaa yhessä. Ollaan käyty koiran kaa kävelyllä parina päivänä ja vaan rentouduttu ja naurettu toistemme tyhmille jutuille. :-D Nää kuvat on Wandleburyn puistosta, joka on noin 20 minuutin ajomatkan päässä keskustasta. Se on tosi ihana puisto kävelyille ja ois myös tosi kiva juoksemiselle, kunhan ei olis niin kauheen kaukana. Jonny osti uudemman version mun kamerasta ja otti harvinaisia tilannekuvia musta, esimerkiksi ton missä poseerattiin koiran kanssa ja sit yhtäkkiä se ampas kuvasta pois ja mä menin mukana. Naurettiin aika kovasti kun tajuttiin, että se sai siitä kuvan. :-D Oon yleensä kameran takana, niin on ihan mukavaa vaihtelua että must on vähemmän poseerattuja kuvia välillä, Kaikki nää kuvat ei siis oo mun ottamia *liitä copyright tähän*. hehe. Ja hei kattokaa noita kevätkukkia, koko metsä oli ihan täynnä keltasta ja valkosta, ja löydettiin noi toi sininenkin seurue. Täällä on ollu tosi lämmintä viime päivinä, ja eilen mittari näytti +15c! Huomenna oon töissä, mutta toivottavasti sunnuntaina ois mukava juoksusää. Tällä viikolla koulussa puhuttiin jo esseistä ja esitelmistä ja yritän olla murehtimatta niistä koska meillä on kuitenkin pari kuukautta aikaa ennen kun ne pitää olla valmiina. Alotin kyllä jo yhen esseekysymyksen pohtimisen, mutta on ollu mukavaa kun on saanu olla pari päivää huolehtimatta mistään.

A cheerful set of pictures of the graveyard behind the university

The other day as the lecture finished and the next one wasn't in three hours my friend and I decided to take a little walk at the cemetery behind the university buildings. My friend can even see it from her window, that's how close it is. Apologies of the not-so-cheerful  grave pictures but I thought some of them turned out pretty cool. According to my friend some of the graves were reasonably recent (which meant about a hundred years old) and apparently the graveyard is a very casual place to walk your dog or film a document for film studies, as we witnessed.

+ Yks päivä kaverin kanssa päätettiin luennon jälkeen käydä yliopiston takana olevalla hautausmaalla kävelyllä. Se on siis siinä ihan vieressä koska mun kaverin huoneesta näkee sinne. Hautausmaakuvat ei ehkä oo kaikesta iloista katsottavaa, mut jopa noi hautakuvat oli musta aika kivoja. Mun luokkakaverin mukaan jotkut haudat oli melko uusia (eli about sata vuotta vanhoja) ja huomattiin hautausmaan olevan ihan sopiva paikka koiran ulkoiluttamiselle ja filmiopiskelijoiden projektin kuvaamiselle.
